Futurverse Studios and Readyverse, the metaverse co-founded by Ernest Cline and Dan Farah, have released the official trailer for their new video game called “Open.” This game, developed with Walker Labs, will be the first major title to be launched in Cline’s Readyverse. “Open” promises to offer a unique gaming experience by integrating multiple genres, IPs, and environments. It will provide players with the opportunity to engage with various beloved intellectual properties in different formats.

The Readyverse, which was previously reported by in January 2024, will not only incorporate assets and gameplay from the Ready Player One franchise but also tap into Warner Bros.’ IPs. The newly released trailer offers glimpses of well-known references, including a Nintendo Entertainment System, Atari 2600, DMC Delorean resembling the one from “Back to the Future,” and a mysterious giant robot that may be connected to Ready Player One or Warner Bros.’ “Pacific Rim” series.

Although the trailer doesn’t reveal any gameplay, it is confirmed that “Open” will be a third-person battle royale game comparable to popular shooters like “Call of Duty: Warzone” and “Fortnite.” The Readyverse aims to embody the principles of the open metaverse, which prioritize security, decentralization, and digital ownership.
